July 26, 2017 – Perth Amboy, NJ Hair Cuttery sponsored Salon Matchmakers Competition at the Robert Fiance Beauty School of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The Winner Announcement Ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 26 with Hair Cuttery on hand to present the winning cosmetology students 1st, 2nd and 3rd place gifts.
Participation is simple. Beauty students enroll on Salon Matchmakers then upload photos of their work to http://salonmatchmakers.com. Professionals in the beauty industry then judge each school’s submitted work.
This round had students focus on “The Edgy Look.” Three winners were chosen from the 33 participants: 1st Place: William Laurel, 2nd Place: Tamara Gamble, and 3rd Place: Anna Ferdyn. According to recruiters from Hair Cuttery, “They all seemed happy with the gifts, and we look forward to interviewing a bunch of students.”
Tanisha Royster, Director of the Robert Fiance Beauty School in Perth Amboy feels the competition is a positive way to motivate cosmetology students, sending a positive note to Michelle Leffler, Co-founder of Salon Matchmakers.

Salon Matchmakers, is seeing huge success with its second cosmetology school styling competition. There were 59 participants from the Dorsey School of Beauty, Taylor Campus, who submitted work for the "Prom Look" contest sponsored by Great Clips of Taylor, Michigan. Of ten finalists, Miyada Al-hawani was crowned the winner on June 23, 2017.
Cosmetology students at the Taylor Campus were given two weeks to register then upload photos of their work on http://salonmatchmakers.com. The “Prom Look” was the theme, with all participants receiving prizes from Great Clips of Taylor, MI. Winner, Miyada Al-hawani, was offered a reception job for Great Clips in Taylor. Two other finalists were offered jobs as well!
Salon Matchmakers launched its first hairstyling competition at the Dorsey School of Beauty, Roseville Campus, Michigan, sponsored by Great Clips of Grosse Point.
With a deadline of May 16, cosmetology students registered on http://salonmatchmakers.com and uploaded pictures of the Prom look. Prizes were awarded for first and second place.
Winners were announced at the Dorsey School of Beauty’s Open House May 25. The winner was Ms. Paulette, who received accolades for her work, enhancing her model’s natural beauty. In addition, all participants enjoyed a goodie bag from Great Clips.

She was the host/co-producer/editor of a TV Talk Show, and was responsible for overall marketing, talent, publicity and feature stories.
Gregory Marks is the founder of Right Now Today.
Since founding Right Now Today his organization has helped over 500 homeless adults and teens through the 500 Bags of Love program by providing hygienic products, food, and clothing.
He is also working with Second Chance Homeless Camp to help create a Micro Home community in the Seattle area.
At the age of forty-three Gregory Marks decided to become an actor and has had much success being featured in magazines, TV shows such as GRIMM, Leverage, Meet the Browns and appearances in feature films such as EDEN, 21 and Over, One Square Mile, Matt’s Chance and many Washington State based films as well as television commercials.
He produced, wrote and acted in his first short film “SHIFT PARADIGM” which was officially selected and screened at Holly Shorts in Hollywood at Mann’s Chinese Theater.
Greg Marks is a 2014 graduate of Pierce College with a 3.2 GPA in Fashion Merchandising.
Currently, Right Now Today is taking on “bullying” which is a growing problem in the United States. Right Now Today is on a mission to help decrease the number of bullying incidents and suicides due to bullying by the end of 2016. Marks also wrote and directed his anti-bullying film Joenah which is currently being shown in schools.
Gregory Marks is a motivational speaker encouraging people to live out their dreams and ambitions no matter what their past has been. Marks has spoken at various organizations such as the Renton Lions club, Bellevue Community College, Pierce College, Meeker Middle School, SOCC and has had publications in the Tacoma Weekly, Bellevue Reporter, Alaska Airlines Magazine, and the Renton Reporter to name a few.

Bill Schrlau has been creating stunning work as both a freelance stylists, consultant/ coach and part of salon teams. Currently with the Adam Broderick Salon team in Connecticut. His impressive line-up includes assisting shows and events for designers like Oscar de la Renta and Diane Von Furstenberg while also snagging editorial, advertising and production opportunities. He is driven by his passion for lifelong learning and sharing.
Pamela is a member of the artistic team of ULTA Beauty, serves as a technical trainer and a salon professional at The Salon at Ulta Beauty. Pamela has more than 17 years of experience working in the beauty industry. Throughout her career with Ulta Beauty, Pamela has represented the brand in numerous high profile opportunities including working on the Ulta Beauty Artistic Team’s NAHA photo shoot submission and serving as the lead designer for Team Karolina Kurkova on Oxygen’s hit reality series, The Face.
